About Us
Mission
Female Doctors of Austin of Indian Origin (FDAIO) is a medical society of women physicians of Indian origin working and having a USA medical license and living in central Texas area.
FDAIO was founded in April 2015 as a resource for social, professional, personal and educational support. FDAIO currently has over 170 members in all stages of their professional careers. from new in job to nearing retirement, and representing many medical specialties, who are bound by their shared experiences balancing professional and personal life.
Our mission at FDAIO is to provide a platform for connecting like-minded individuals where they can share personal and medical expertise, seek and provide peer support, and collaborate professionally. We aim to up-lift our female physicians to be the best in whatever they do by uniting them with other female physicians. We help to connect our FDAIO members with each other through monthly gatherings, presentations, and fun events in person or virtually. FDAIO delivers continuing medical education, and fosters opportunities for leadership.
We believe that as a female physician, we have a unique perspective that can be harnessed to build a socially- conscious collective voice - one that will advocate for positive change not only for female physicians, but also for our patients and community we live in.
